Welcome to 8th grade!
I am Mrs. Krapf, your 8th grade English Language Arts (ELA) and/or Social Studies teacher. This is my eleventh year teaching, and my tenth year at Bell Oaks. I have always taught Social Studies at each grade level over the course of the past ten years, but have concentrated primarily on 7th and 8th grades. This is my third year teaching 8th grade ELA. Over the years, I've also taught 8th grade Science and the 5th-8th grade Academically Talented classes. In 2003, I graduated Rowan University with a Bachelors degree after studying Elementary Education and History. In 2007, I graduate with a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Scranton. This year, I plan to begin taking courses in Educational Technology to earn a Certificate of Graduate Study. As a teacher, I seek to make learning accessible for all students, so that they may become active, and informed citizens of our global community. I have high expectations for all students, and ask that they have high expectations for themselves also. While it is important that learning is accessible and engaging, it is also important to work hard and challenge ourselves. Outside of school I am the mom of two very active children. My son Hayden is 7, and just started 2nd grade. He is involved in swimming and musical theater. My daughter Teagan is 5, and just started Kindergarten. She is trying soccer for the first time this year, and is also busy with swimming and dance. I *love* to read, especially young adult literature, such as Hunger Games and Divergent, and keep busy with a few fitness classes and kickboxing. |
